FAQ

What is Kleine Zeitung Grossglockner E-Bike Summit?

Kleine Zeitung Grossglockner E-Bike Summit is an e-bike event for adults and children that takes place in Heiligenblut am Grossglockner – and it’s the first event of its kind in Austria. Its highlight is the E-Bike Fun Ride on Grossglockner High Alpine Road, which will then be exclusively accessible to e-bikers. The finish is on Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe. The event will be completed by an expo, lectures held in the evenings, a stunt show and guided tours.

When does Kleine Zeitung Grossglockner E-Bike Summit take place?

Kleine Zeitung Grossglockner E-Bike Summit will take place from June 7 to 9, 2019 in Heiligenblut am Grossglockner.

Is the number of participants limited?

Yes. The Fun Ride on Grossglockner High Alpine Road (which on Sunday, June 9 will exclusively be accessible to e-bikers) is limited to 500 participants.

From when can I sign up for the Fun Ride?

Registration will be possible from March 15, 2019 at 12:00. However, those interested can reserve themselves a starting position until March 14. As soon as the regular registration office opens on March 14, you will get an exclusive e-mail to sign up. All those who have not placed a reservation can sign up 24 hours later (March 15, 2019) until the limit of 500 participants has been reached.

Yes. The minimum age required is 14 years. All Participants must be at least 14 years old at the time of the event. Children below 14 years of age are not qualified to participate in the event.

May I participate in the event with another bicycle (not an e-bike)?

This event is exclusively reserved for e-bikes. Therefore, it is unfortunately not possible to participate with other bikes. However, if you’d like to muscle Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe with another bike, starting from Heiligenblut we recommend Grossglockner Bike Challenge, which takes place in July.

Will I be able to use the Grossglockner High Alpine Road during the event even if I don’t have a starting number?

No. Grossglockner High Alpine Road will then only be accessible to those who have a startingnumber. Individuals who do not will be stopped by the police or officially appointed road security staff and may continue their ride when the event is over. We also ask all friends and family members of participants to respect this provision. The event was restricted by obligation.

How long does it take to get to Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe by e-bike if you start at Heiligenblut?

On average, it takes about 1 h 10 min to 1 h 15 min to ride this route by e-bike.
